The purpose of this senior project is to evoke compassion among teachers, family, and friends for children struggling with dyslexia. Through a series of posters entitled “Words that Wound”, I represent the impact of dyslexia on emotional well-being. In each of the four posters, I share a personal journey of how I internalized the words I heard others say to me. The smiling child in the school photo is overshadowed by a mask of poor self-image, anxiety, anger, and depression.
